About Me

So many tunes, so little time!

I’ve been piping since 2002, first with the Celtic Spirit Pipe Band of Buffalo, New York, and now with the Wasatch and District Pipe Band of Bountiful, Utah. This year is my first season competing with a band, and also competing solo. Both of these experiences are helping me figure out what comes next in my piping career.

Growing up in England, and experiencing other styles of music before I ever started piping, has informed my approach to the bagpipes and I try to convey some of this through my writing here.

Your comments are, of course, welcome!

    Marc,

Firstly, thanks for the kind words on my blog, Zen Traveler. It’s always appreciated toget feed back from people, especially fellow bloggers.

I had to laugh at your invitation to check out your blog because I’ve been an avid reader of it for about a year. I have it marked in my Google Reader and get notified when you put up a post.

I appreciate your love for piobaireachd. For me, it’s a very emotional music, one that requires a certain amount of living life’s lessons in order to fully appreciate what it has to offer. I’m currently working on Kinlochmoidart #1 with my teacher, and have found that I really love this tune. I guess that’s a good thing since we have to live with our tune selections for such a long time before we can get them presentable :)

    Best to you and yours,

    eric
